Notes From The Pub

I ain't a Communist necessarily, but I have been in the red all my life…
                         ---Woody Guthrie
Greetings!
Welcome to 2020! This year is starting off on a very sad note…David B. Treadway has left the building…To say multiple instrumentalist is a real understatement if there ever was one.
David played the fiddle, guitar, banjo…his vocals were honed into another instrument…
He was a radio personality for over 40 years…KAAY (as Doc Holladay), KSWH, KXOW, KLNK, KLIT, KARN, US87…and daily broadcasts throughout the airwaves.
His last band was Hell's Kitchen…
He was a gentle giant of a man, and as pleasant a person to engage with as you can find.
He was truly inspirational in every aspect…and will be missed…

In general.......
Things around here have been a challenge lately. My bride Dianne had a major stroke before Christmas. She was taken by ambulance to UAMS, and then to Baptist Hospital for some much needed rehab.
She's staying at her daughter's in Little Rock.
Please keep her in your prayers…the strongest medicine I know about…

In Closing.......
Well folks, that’s just about all the time left on Mickey’s Hands. The sun is sailing in the sky, and the third pot of coffee is brewed and calling me.
Thank you for all the years of not having to get a real job. Make a point to get out and support live music whenever you can...and go out of your way to support the people making it...
And support the venues that are bringing it to you.
And please remember the fact that if a venue has to charge you a cover charge it’s the only way many clubs can afford to bring you live music.
Add to this, also remember to tip the workers well...they live on this...
       It’s IMPORTANT!
We’ll see you again next time...
Until then, then, keep it high and keep ‘em flyin’...
